For four generations, the Reichart family has been producing Red Gold premium
quality tomatoes. Red Gold began in 1942 when Grover Hutcherson and his daughter,
Fran, rebuilt a burned-out Midwest cannery to provide fresh-tasting tomato products
for the war effort. After WWII, Fran and her husband Ernie Reichart continued
running the factory and eventually brought their children into the business. Under
the leadership of Brian Reichart, Red Gold has become America’s largest privately
owned tomato and canned tomato food processor. Red Gold produces premium
quality canned tomatoes, ketchup and tomato-based products for the retail,
foodservice, private brand and club channels of distribution. The Red Gold® family of
consumer brands includes Red Gold®, Redpack®, Tuttorosso® and Sacramento®.

Red Gold’s legacy continues to this day by staying true to its roots. The Reichart
family has always remained committed to having the best quality tomatoes,
employees, growers, and customer service in the industry and is now the only
remaining tomato canner left in Indiana. By putting all of their focus into tomatoes
and only tomatoes, Red Gold has become famous across the nation. It’s evident that
the employee created mission statement; “To produce the freshest, best tasting
tomato products in the world” is taken seriously!
